On THURSDAY, OCTOBER 13 We Six pays tribute to the innovative trumpeter and composer who recorded 25 classic albums as a leader for Blue Note Records and whose fiery solos, as a member of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, helped define the hard bop sound of the 1950s and ’60s.
