Jazz is a place where groove and sophistication meet

Paul Silbergleit is a Milwaukee-based jazz guitarist, composer, educator, recording artist, and author.

Whether leading his Trio or Quartet at a club or festival, appearing with top-flight jazz artists as an in-demand sideman, making the halls of the St. Kate Arts Hotel reverberate with his solo guitar stylings, or mentoring the promising musicians of tomorrow as a founding member of the Milwaukee Jazz Institute, Paul Silbergleit brings soul, sophistication, a beautiful tone, and a refined taste to the art of jazz guitar, in the Milwaukee area and beyond. His fine compositions and arrangements can be heard onstage or on acclaimed albums such as January and My New Attitude. His most recent book for Hal Leonard, Play Like Joe Pass, may just qualify as the book on that all-time great artist, and his previous book, 25 Great Jazz Guitar Solos, is one of the most substantial works of its kind in existence.

“A writer of beautiful and swinging melodies… he has something of substance to say.”
