SUMMARY:with We Six - Dizzy\, Dameron\, and Monk - Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts\, Brookfield\, WI
DESCRIPTION:On SATURDAY\, MARCH 18\, 2017\, We Six pays tribute to these three giants in a 100th Birthday Celebration! Dizzy Gillespie\, Tadd Dameron\, and Thelonious Monk were three of the most influential musicians of the Bebop era\, and to commemorate the 100th anniversary of their births\, We Six will perform some of their best-known compositions\, including “A Night in Tunisia\,” “If You Could See Me Now\,” and “‘Round Midnight.” A consistent favorite of festivals and clubs\, We Six is now in its fifteenth season of residence at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music\, where the members teach and regularly perform in concert. Besides Paul Silbergleit on guitar\, the group features trumpeter Eric Jacobson\, tenor saxophonist Eric Schoor\, pianist Mark Davis\, bassist Jeff Hamann\, and drummer David Bayles. \nClick here for more info and online ticketing.
